A building can reveal a culture — and the ways people live together.
This developing programme starts with Hong Kong’s buildings, materials and shared spaces. With architecture and landscape educator Sonny Xu, we are exploring how existing teaching and research can become an accessible public-learning experience.
Read. Understand. Consider. Contribute.
- Observe plans, roofs, materials and properly sourced cultural details.
- Use drawings, simple models and shared-space exercises to consider different people’s needs.
- Turn that learning into clear cultural interpretation and public resources.
2027: looking back, building forward
Hong Kong’s 30th anniversary provides a moment to explore the continuity of Chinese culture through our built surroundings and to put community care into practice.
The site, funding, curriculum and participation arrangements remain in development. Registration is not yet open.
